There are some people who come into your life and leave again without even casting a shadow and then there was Maria.
Maria was a perfectionist, she enjoyed all crafts from patchwork to beading to paper crafting to embroidery, everything, she embraced all of them and was hungry to educate herself in all aspects. Maria was interested in everything and everyone. Maria fought many battles in her life, not least her physical health and MS but it was the big C that she fought to the very end never wanting to give up...
There is a wealth of craftwork left behind some still to be finished, Cathy organised for Maria's friends continued to work on this quilt that was only maybe half pieced. It was a lot of work, it's all English paper pieced, Anne donated the backing and wadding and I quilted it with 'flower crosshatch'.....
This will be gifted to one of Maria's dear Daughters...
We all loved Maria!!!
This lovely colourful log cabin quilt was pieced by Elaine who posted her quilt to me with the only advisory that it was to be gifted to friends who had an allotment, (vegetable garden), could I find a quilting design with vegetables.
I searched and searched but eventually found a design called 'vegetable soup'. It has carrots, peas. beetroot, turnips, and apples and tomatoes, it was perfect. The top looks just like a pixelated cottage garden full of flowers....
