They are so cute.....

This is the view from my house!

My dear Grandchildren, Kyle and Fieron were having fun riding their Quad Bike yesterday, it was Fieron's first day to ride the bike (this was her second shot), she's only seven years old....it was a beautiful day here in the Scottish Borders...this is the view I see from my house everyday...how cool is that?

Another simple top!

I started piecing this top a couple of weeks ago...then life took over as usual...guess I must have been born with a paint brush in my hand....The fabric was a charm pack I wanted to use up...sometimes I think fabric has a use by date and I think this collection is one of them, luckily I had some 1/2 yard pieces that matched up well....the quilt is growing and the design is coming together...not sure I like it too much else I think I would have finished piecing it by now but it will still do for quilting practice.

This is how it looks on the design wall, still needs another 15 or so pieces/tiles, maybe still a little bit of jiggling and the blocks still need squaring up...then I'll have to decide on a border treatment..I think something simple .......

I've decided that this is a great way to view your design wall, you can usually see where you can make one or two adjustments once you've uploaded a photograph onto the web....lol.... or places where you have missed a bit of quilting if it's a finished quilt...lol....

Friday 13th.....

Last week we eventually got round to having a new ceiling fixed up in one of our bedrooms, I managed to get the room nearly all decorated before the carpet fitters came this morning....did wonder if it was wise to get out the gloss paint with a new carpet and finish up painting the doors on Friday 13th......

But all went well!

Simple tops!

I think I am going to be in need of some simply pieced tops....

The smaller of the two has already been a practice piece on my Mega Quilter...it was the first quilt I practiced a pantogragh on, the stitches were huge so it was easy to skin with a sharp blade...I added a couple of borders and now it can be used again for more practicing...

The second top I made up from a batik 'jelly roll' with white added, it's in a bit of a weave design although the design is quite subtle as the contrast in colours is not too great.....bright and modern looking....well, we'll see how the quilting goes when the time comes...looks like there's a colour theme going on!!

I think She's hiding something!

What could it be?

Play the video to find out!
Sorry...there is a bit of noise pollution...

Last night one of the six chicks got left behind when mother hen and the rest of her clutch went into hiding for the night but fortunately he was making plenty of little cheep cheep noises to attract our attention, the little chick spent the night in the house in the warm.  Today we caught them all up and put them in a coup for safety!

So cute and it's not even Easter.....

Great Venue!

What a place for a meeting...great venue.....

This wonderful old house is now used as a museum for local history, you can hire a room for a conference or meeting or just drop in for a coffee.....after the meeting I had to take a stroll around the gardens....I took a seat under a tree....took me a while to realise that this was a metal tree sculpture....

Guess some meeting venues are better than others!
