Back to Quilting!

It's been a long while since I did anything to do with quilting....but I did recently take the plunge and design an easy quilt in EQ7....I like simple piecing which will showcase the finished quilting design! I think this is a jewel box or stepping stone design.

Chose my fabrics.....I'm using a layer cake to give a more scrappy look...there is still lots left over for another project.

Even used my 'Go' cutter for the first time proper....

And cut out the body of the quilt......

Then made a start on the piecing.....

I think I may change my mind and go with a darker pink outer border to give a warmer look???

  1. The darker pink border would look really nice! It's a cute quilt.

  2. This is going to be a very pretty quilt. So how do you like the EQ7? I've been thinking about getting it and would appreciate your opinion.

  3. I think of watermelons when I see it.

  4. Hi Ladonna....Thanks for visiting....I don't know if I am best place to offer an opinion....I had EQ6 but didn't really use it....too many toys not enough time...this is the first time I've used EQ7 and I bought it in February...I always have many great plans but my life is very busy until August so not much time to make quilts...hope after that I can be a bit more productive...we'll see?

    Best Wishes

  5. Love the colours you picked for the Jewel Box pattern, that one is on my long to-do list. I really like your table/shelf you store your GO cutter on.

  6. This is going to be a beautiful quilt, I love your colour choices.
Also love your cabinet that your Accuquilt Go is sitting on.
    Hope you are keeping well.

  7. Hi Kay,
Great you are using your accuquilt. Great colours, I love that layer cake too!!

    Have fun.

  8. It's looking good! I'm catching up on my blog reading...
I think either a darker pink or a darker green outer border would look good, looking at the colors in your layer cake. What did you decide?

Hi there, thanks for dropping by, I appreciate your visit and comments.....
