Visiting Family near Harrogate....

After my usual monthly dropping off and picking up of quilts last Friday at Borderland Fabrics, Jeburgh, I headed off straight down the A68 to Weardale, I'm a Weardale Girl!
I spent the night at my Mothers and next day we headed back to the A68 and off towards the A1(M) and the York/Leeds/Harrogate area to visit my Sister and her family. We stayed a couple of nights, it was great to catch up after such a long time.

On Sunday the three of us drove back to Harrogate for The Great Northern Quilt Show.

My own quilt Subtle Differences won a 2nd Place award in the Large Wall Hanging category and a Judges Choice award from Sylvia Critcher. I was pleased that it had been hung so that both sides of the quilt could be seen without it being handled, even though the hanging frame set up was a little different, it can be done!

Liz Villalobos also entered her Double Wedding Ring Quilt, the one I quilted for her. Although it wasn't boasting any ribbons it looked wonderful hanging there, the suble colour of the green fabics is so calming for a bed quilt.

A lovely quilt by Andrea Ashwell, I remember her piecing this quilt at Rydal Hall retreat....

Masquerade by Birgit Schueller won a 1st prize in the Large Wallhanging category and a Judges Choice from Shirley Bloomfield....

A lovely handquilted minature by Andrea Stracke, Caresite awarded 1st Hand Quilting

Serandite by Andrea Stracke awarded 1st Cot Quilt and 1st Wholecloth....beautiful....

Lots of interest in Linda Jackson's Cappachino, Runner Up Champion etc, etc, etc......

Looking at the back....

This quilt took 20 years to finish....

I have this Judy Niemeyer pattern somewhere in my pattern stash....love it....

Fabulous African Dancers

Best in Show Perseverance by Susan Lax......Fabulous!
