Happy times...

I delivered a couple of quilts back to customers recently.  Happy times pantograph is always a popular choice, it makes for a wonderful, open and draping quilt.

These two quilts were lovely and flat and quilted up without a problem. The 'fairies' quilt is another very large quilt, super kingsize.  the fairy blocks are set into self fabric log cabin blocks.

Lovely fabric choices for these simple blocks make for a stunning quilt....

This batik hexagon quilt backed with a very light weight fleece/fur fabric is quilted with special randomly placed motifs requested by my customer.....

and Oxnam Quilters raffle quilt 2013

I had a busy time last week delivering quilts...here are two returned to Borderland Fabrics...the first is a commission quilt that Annette and Kathy made up and asked me to quilt for them.....it was a big one...

It is always a relief to get to this poing on a large quilt....this one measured 102"x102"...Happy times panto with Glide cream thread....

I like a quilt that reaches to the floor.

I will be certain to buy tickets for this guild quilt for the Oxnam Quilters...Kathy and the ladies made up the top and sent it to me to quilt....again Happy times, a very popular panto with a Metro silver/grey thread....

Scrappy...

I have a customer who makes lovely scrappy quilts with gorgeous faded colours, different  borders give a totally different look to the quilt.....we chose Happy times for one and Plush for the other, although the backings are busy so it doesn't show too much on the backs....

Simple is often just perfect!

I have been busy honestly and do have a few blog posts lined up.
This is a customer quilt in lovely relaxing green fabrics, simply made but stunning just the same. My customer chose a light pantograph for the whole quilt. Happy Times is just perfect for a variety of quilts and gives a lovely soft drape.

Playing....

I've been doing a bit of playing!  Well, I wanted to do a tension test on the thread that a customer has chosen so for me the best way is to do an actual sample. So I chose a panto, plain fabrics, lilac on top and lime green as the backing. Boring so far right? Then I reversed the thread colours and put the lime green thread on top and the dark lilac in the bobbin and stitched out the panto. I'll use the finished quilted fabric as a sample for the panto but also cut away some of it to make a cover for my Studio cutter!

I used 'Happy Times' panto but then I got a bit carried away and added some feathers, there is still plenty left to make the panto sample though! I have to say the tension on the back was perfect and there were just one or two small pull ups in the points, so it's good to know the thread combination will work out OK on my customers quilt!
